About Eastview Middle School 2019

The Eastview 8th Grade Science Classes are holding their annual fundraiser.  This will be the third year in a row where we will be collecting money to go to the Just One Africa cause (non-profit).  Since we have been doing so much work with understanding what renewable and non-renewable resources are and how people use resources, we are relating our fundraiser to this.  There are so many people in Africa who don't have access to clean water, or it is in such limited quantity, that family members might need to walk miles just for one bucket of not-so-clean water for the day.  We also think this is a great opportunity to get students to contemplate what others go through just to survive each day and to think about what they can do to help.

There are over 44 million people living in Kenya, of which almost 18 million (43 percent) do not have access to clean water. This is a true water crisis. The water filters we use are simple, effective, and save lives. They are capable of filtering up to 1 million gallons of clean, safe water and do not require any replaceable parts. Access to clean, safe water is a catalyst for change and the first step to elevating communities from a cycle of sickness and poverty to one of health and hope. For only $65 you can provide a life-saving water to a family in need. Just One Africa partners with local leaders in Kenya to create sustainable solutions for orphans and vulnerable children by addressing the clean water crisis and creating hope through care, education, and community development. Contributions made to Just One Africa are tax deductible as it is a registered 501 (c)3 Non-Profit Organization. We looking for anyone who can help me save lives; Just One at a time. Water is Life!
